About Our Chapter
The Michigan Chapter of AG Bell (MI AG Bell) supports the mission of our national organization. We are an all volunteer, 501(c) (3) charitable organization with board members representing our three unique branches: professionals in the field of hearing loss, parents of children who have hearing loss, and deaf and hard of hearing adults. We strive to provide worthwhile programs for our members through several events. We offer a Summer Camp for children that provides a mainstream experience supplemented by daily language enrichment sessions, and audiological support for their hearing aids or cochlear implants. Our biennial Fall Conference focuses on the latest educational issues and techniques for the benefit of our professional and parent members. Events for families may include a family weekend, summer picnic or periodic activities which focus on the needs of parents and children, and provide the opportunity for deaf and hard of hearing adults to interact with each other and share experiences and friendships.
MI AG Bell depends solely on volunteers and donations to accomplish our goals. We devote our time, energy and talents towards helping children with hearing loss become successful adults in mainstream society. National AG Bell members who reside in states with an AG Bell chapter are automatically members of the chapter.
